Here at glide we’re asking you to get your friends together for Oxfam on Thursday 8th March to celebrate International Women’s Day. It’s the perfect excuse to have fun and raise money for a great cause.

Do whatever you love doing – a dinner party, coffee morning or a film night. Just ask your guests to make a donation for taking part – and to help support women worldwide.

Why women?

There are around 1.3 billion people living in extreme poverty worldwide; more than two-thirds of them are women and girls. Statistics like these reflect the bleak reality of life for millions of women in the developing world.

But we are dedicated to changing this. All of Oxfam’s projects have gender equality at their heart, ensuring women overcome the discrimination they face, and secure their basic rights. From enabling maternity care in Ghana to supporting women in business in Vietnam.
